Recreation Advisory Board


The Metter-Candler Recreation Advisory Board is appointed by the Candler County Board of Commissioners and serves to:
  • Advise the Recreation Director and/or the County Administrator and Board of Commissioners on matters concerning programs, schedules, and recreational services;
  • Seek the development of a broad variety of programs, facilities, and services to meet the needs and demands of Candler County;
  • Inform the public about the importance of, and need for, recreation programs, facilities, and services; 
  • Involve the citizens in the planning and development of recreation programs, facilities, and services;
  • Identify local recreation needs;
  • Establish and maintain an effective public relations program
